Q. "I made a mistake on a Form I-9. What do I do?"

Answer:

When you find an error on an I-9, the USCIS recommends the following:

• Draw a line through the incorrect information

• Enter the correct information

• Initial and date the correction

• Once you’ve completed the above steps, include a note with the I-9 explaining why the change was made

Do NOT use white out or a thick marker to try and cover the error. Also make sure you're using the most up to date I-9 form and procedures.
