2026 Connecticut Midyear Roundup

Beginning July 1, 2026, Connecticut will become the latest state to implement quota-related protections for warehouse distribution center employees. Specifically, the new law will require employers with warehouse distribution centers that employ 250 or more employees at a single location in the state, or 1,000 or more employees across the state, to provide nonexempt employees with a written description of each quota they’re subject to and any adverse action that could result from failing to meet the quota.

Additionally, the law places several limitations on quotas, including that they can’t interfere with meal periods or bathroom use. Employers also need to maintain quota-related records for at least three years.

SB 298 was signed by the governor on March 3, 2026.

Action Item:

Provide current employees with written quota descriptions by August 1, 2026, and all new hires after that.
