2026 Oregon Midyear Roundup

The following changes to Oregon employment laws apply to employers of all sizes.

Minimum Wage Increases

The hourly minimum wages will increase on July 1, 2026, as follows:

  • Portland Metro: $16.80

  • Standard: $15.55

  • Nonurban Counties: $14.55

No Adverse Action for Work Authorization Information Changes

As of June 5, 2026, employers can’t discharge, discriminate, or otherwise take any adverse action against an employee for updating—or trying to update—their personal information due to a lawful change to their federal work authorization documents. This protection applies broadly to anyone whose work authorization status changes, including visa holders and refugees.
