Delaware Adds Military Status as a Protected Characteristic

Delaware has updated its antidiscrimination law to include military status as a protected characteristic. This law applies to employers in the state with four or more employees. While federal law already prohibits employers of all sizes from discriminating based on past, present, or prospective military service, Delaware's law is more expansive because it defines military status to include the dependents, including spouses, of service members.
