Nebraska Paid Sick Time
Nebraska's Healthy Families and Workplaces Act, which voters passed in November, will go into effect on October 1, 2025. The act requires employers to provide paid sick time to employees. Under the law, employees must be able to earn one hour of paid sick time for every 30 hours worked. Employers with 20 or more employees must provide up to 56 hours of paid sick time per year. Employers with 11-19 employees must provide up to 40 hours per year. Employers with fewer than 11 employees are exempt from the law.
